During this past Christmas, my wife and I were out visiting our daughter and her family in Longmount , Colorado. Two of my other children came with their spouses and family also. One of the days while we were visiting, we were enjoying somewhat balmy weather for late December and went off to spend some time in Boulder. While we were checking out the city, my son Steve and his wife Lacey decided to take a high nearby that one would say was challenging. While up near the flat iron peak which is part of Chautauqua Park, they took some photos which were quite nice. There was some fog up at the top and it was creating some cool images. He showed them to me and I asked him to forward them to me. I thought they would make interesting subjects for future paintings.
This was a fun painting to do in trying to catch the beauty of the flat iron peak shrouded in the misty fog/cloud cover.
